We didn't hear back from Mr. Rollock after sending off Dad's email of May 11.. NOT interested doing business with you.
So a third kitchen table meeting was arranged for the morning of June 21st and this time we were blessed with a new EnCana landman AND an EnCana public relations dude.
They both gave an impressive performance that our concerns were important to them and they would do their best going forward. Thank goodness we didn't hold our breath.
It was at this point in the forced negotiations process that we insisted all future communications would be done in writing. We told Mr. Sillito and Mr. Vescarelli that phone calls and unannounced company reps at the door would not be an acceptable mode of doing business with us. They had a long way to go before their word or their hand-shakes would be trusted again.
As demonstrated in Mr. Rollock's notes and Mr. Sillito's June 22nd email, even their written communications deserved a great deal of scrutiny.
